Frame PR takes on sport clients after adding Scottish FA comms chief to team

Glasgow's Frame PR has expanded its client portfolio, adding UEFA, the Scottish FA and others to its roster in recent weeks.

Frame was set up in 2014 as a joint venture between 70-person Frame Group, which also offers advertising, digital and recruitment services, and the comms agency Charlotte Street Partners, which was founded by a former RBS comms chief in 2014 and has Finsbury founder Roland Rudd on its board.

The PR firm took on Darryl Broadfoot, the Scottish Football Association's former head of communications and corporate affair, in January.

The agency has this month been briefed by the Scottish FA to provide ongoing communications support for the country's national football team and the governing body.

Frame also picked up PFA Scotland - the union of professional footballers in Scotland - toward the end of May. The initial 12-month brief includes the goal of improving and activating the union's sponsorship portfolio, Frame said. 

European football governing body UEFA also appointed Frame in March, and tasked the agency with providing strategic comms as part of the UEFA Grow project, which provides support for national football associations.

Elsewhere, Frame was handed a consumer PR brief by golf major The Open to promote attendance ahead of the Royal Birkdale event, which is taking place in July. Work on the campaign began in May.

Frame also picked up optometrists Black & Lizars in May. The agency has been tasled with delivering PR, digital and creative services. 

Other recent wins include the Scottish Seabird Centre and tenancy deposit scheme TDS, which offered the agency a 24-month contract.

Frame managing partner Stephen McCranor said: "This latest raft of new business reflects the calibre of people we're bringing into the agency and our obsession with recruiting the industry's best talent is paying off."
