Portland gets Equifax crisis brief, Bell Pott leaver to Hudson Sandler, Wang switches to TV firm

Portland gets Equifax crisis brief

Portland was brought in last month to assist Equifax, the US credit reporting agency which suffered a hack putting the personal information of more than 143 million Americans at risk. It is working with Portland in the UK, while Edelman parent company DJE Holdings is working with it in its home market.

Bell Pott leaver to Hudson Sandler

Dan de Belder, who spent the last 13 years at Bell Pottinger, latterly as a partner, has joined Hudson Sandler as a partner to support the development of its strategic corporate communications practice. He has a particular focus on retail, consumer and media sectors. However, rumours that the agency has also hired Bell Pottinger's Victoria Geoghegan are "completely untrue", Hudson Sandler managing partner Andrew Hayes told PRWeek last week.

Wang switches to TV firm

China's TCL Multimedia, which claims to be the world's third largest TV manufacturer, has appointed Amandine Wang as PR manager for Europe, based in Paris. Wang is a Chinese national but has worked in France for seven years, latterly at Chinese luxury spirits brand Moutai. Earlier this year, TCL Multimedia retained PPR Worldwide for its media and influencer relations across Europe.

Wholesaler hires William Murray

Wholesale retailer Bestway has appointed William Murray Communications to rebrand Bestway Batleys as BB foodservice and led the firm's communications strategy as it targets ambitious growth in delivered wholesale. William Murray went through an MBO last year.

McNab joins Big

Colin McNab has joined Scotland-based Big Partnership as client services director, working across the firm's six offices. He retains roles as a committee member on HM Revenue and Customs’ digital services group and guest lecturer in business at the University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Insurer hires Ready10

Ready10 has been appointed by motorcycle insurer Carole Nash to ongoing comms and services around its proposed sale to Ardonagh Group. Carole Nash has previously worked with Frank, the agency where Ready10 founder was deputy MD before setting up his agency last year.

Stagecoach hires Brazil

Stagecoach Performing Arts has appointed the agency Brazil to handle its brand communications and media outreach, raising the profile of the network of schools both in local communities and across the UK. Stagecoach has more than 600 schools around the world, and notable alumni include Emma Watson, Jamie Bell and Eleanor Tomlinson.

Polaroid captures agency

London agency Margaret_ has been appointed by Polaroid to run the UK launch campaign, press office, influencer outreach and creative and business partnerships for its new Polaroid Originals brand and OneStep2 camera.

Protein product picks Palm

Palm PR has been appointed by Protein Water Co to manage its launch into the UK market across both PR and social media, following a five-way pitch.
